Lars's first day of kindergarten!!!

So Lars's first day of school!!! He said he got to play games, sing songs that his teacher made up, play outside, color, have snack, and have lots of fun!

He has been so excited and ready. I had to get out the calendar that you can wipe off, so he could count down the days, after we went school shopping Monday last week. He came home and wanted to wear his new backpack and go to school that night and all the next day. The tough thing was that Liz went to her first day on Tues, Tanner on Wed and then both of them on Thurs. (Liz is in middle school and they have the 7th graders go one day and 8th graders go one day and then all go the 3rd day). Poor kid! He had to watch them go and come home happy nad excited about their day and he didn't.
So Monday this week, he again wants to go to school when Tanner and Lizzy leave. So I take him to the calendar so he can cross off the day. He crosses it off and we count how many days. Then he says,"I have school tomorrow!" (happy face.) "No honey, you have school on Wednesday, not Tuesday" "But this is tomorrow." (pointing to Wednesday) "No here is today, we have 2 more sleeps, THEN you have school." (i smile) "But Tanner, Liz and I stayed up and watched a movie, and so this (pointing to Tues, since Mon was now marked off) today, so one more sleep and I have school tomorrow." ROFL It was very hard not to laugh too hard and loud. "No honey, just because you mark the day off doesn't mean it's not there. You still have 2 more sleeps and then school." LOL Well... he is officially in school and happy! However he is still NOT happy about having to go to bed at bedtime, even if it does mean going to school tomorrow.

Yeah Lars!! You're growing up so fast!!
