Start of school 2010

The last few months, my attention has been brought to the fact that the time we have with our children is so short and that I need to soak it up! I am trying to do that. And I am trying to let them soak up being a kid too. It's hard to let them do that AND still teach them that they are big enough to do the responsible things they are suppose to do.

This year has brought some BIG changes as far as school goes for our family. Lizzy is in middle school and Lars is going to kindergarten! I can't believe how fast they grow up!

My big girl started middle school this year!! A brand new school too. She is so excited and loving it! She loves that she gets to ride the "batman" bus to school. Loves her teachers (so far no real homework) and classes. She loves that at lunch there are lots of choices. LOL It's great to see her so happy. I hope it lasts with next week.

Tanner is loving school this year too! We are grateful for the teacher he has. I know his teacher will work with him and help him if he has attention issues or some of the other problems we have had in the past. This teacher was the vice principal for awhile and worked with him before when Tanner first started going to school. (And by funny trivia, we
are related to him too. He is cousin to Tanner's grandma.)

Lars, crazy kid, is soooo excited for school! He was NOT so excited to get his shots so he could go to school though. lol He has his backpack and was wearing it around the house the next day ready to go. I had to get the calendar out to show him when he starts. He has started marking out the days so he can count down. He has met his teacher and done some activities in his classroom on open house night. They have a medieval theme room, and its pretty cool! Hard to believe he is old enough to go to school. That 5 yrs ago he was a baby and his daddy was in Iraq. Crazy!!

Torben is..... well.... a tornado out of a trailer park, and into our house!! He has been into so much trouble lately. (although not nearly as much as my girl friends mind you - see angelsinzion.blogspot.com/2010/08/todays-adventures.html) LOL His latest gig is to, when we don't have eyes on him for 5 secs (and I mean 5 secs), pull as many keys off our laptops as possible. He has ruined Luke's so bad we have to buy a new key board for it. He has been keeping us on our toes and reminding us one of the reasons why he is the last one. But he has been fun to watch grow and remember that he is our last chance to see this change up close, day to day.
I am trying to remember that and cherish these moments and remember to laugh along the way too! Because after all, laughing is better than crying, and what matters in the end is that our children know we love them!!! (Oh and that we have blackmail for when they are dating!! MMUUHHAAAAAA) : )
